IT'S ALL ABOUT THE .....FOOD

I am doing my best to teach the YW leaders and the girls my motto.....
It's all about the Food.

Last night for mutual we had a Treasure Hunt. It was fun!! We divided up into two groups. Each group got a car, a cup, a pair of dice and a flashlight. Only the two driver's knew where we needed to be in 30 minutes.....If our 'hunting' did not get us there we were to just drive there and wait for further instructions by me...(I'm bossy)

The props?? Well......At each intersection we would roll the dice. If they add up to an odd number you would turn left, an even number you would turn right, a double you would go straight. It took our team forever to get out of our ward boundaries. The other team was headin' up the canyon. They had to turn around. Both cars ended up just driving to the destination which was the 'Tabernacle' (we referenced it as the temple). Then we talked about how our lives takes so many different directions and how our Patriarchal blessings will help us along our way. Then we got to the best part............what do you think that is??? Did you pay attention to my motto???

BTW. The girls at the ice cream shop didn't seem too thrilled we were there.......AND when we asked them to take our picture (because I am always behind the camera and wasn't going to be this time)......hmm. It's hard to find good fun help.

What a great object lesson... you know... you could take it even a step further to talk about choices... when you play a game with dice there is no choice except to roll. What you get is what you get. It's all chance. Sometimes we look at life this way too - but we have been sent here to make choices - not to be acted upon, but to act! Sometimes things will happen that are out of our control, but we still have a choice in how we react... wow... you've got my brain spinnin right now :)
And who doesn't love ice cream?? Great activity!

What a great activity for YW! I'll pass it on to Lindsay since she's in YW now. Those girls are lucky to have you as their YW Prez!
